Accidents inducing tears, perforations or lacunas occur frequently. Normally, the canvas deforms and threads distend and are torn out of the weaving. The paint layer weakens and shows more or less significant losses.

The zones must be flattened and the edges of the tear must be drawn together. If present, the canvas losses are filled by intarsia respecting the originals weave. Afterwards, we proceed to thread-to-thread lining with small resistant threads. In certain cases, a small piece of canvas can be sticked to the back in order to guarantee the tears flatness. The choice of the materials (the tissu weight, the thread nature and the adhesive type) is made according to every artwork.
